Kevin Helmrick

Dr. Kevin Helmrick is the Vice President of Physician Systems / Clinical Analytics for Methodist Healthcare where he supports the implementation and maintenance of physician IT systems, and the application of clinical analytics to achieve clinical excellence and improved healthcare outcomes.  He is a transformational leader focused on improving Methodist health IT systems including the electronic health record, CPOE, physician documentation, medical reconciliation, and ePrescribing.  The Methodist Clinical Analytics team monitors key performance indicators, facilitates healthcare performance improvement, and delivers timely and actionable information to leaders and stakeholders. Dr. Helmrick previously served 8 years as the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) for Methodist Healthcare and has over 20 years of diverse healthcare informatics experience. He studied Computer Science at Marquette University and Medicine at the University of Wisconsin Medical School and practiced Internal Medicine in the US Air Force.

As the past president of South Texas HIMSS and Division Manager overseeing physician support services at Methodist Healthcare, Michelle has demonstrated exceptional expertise in healthcare information management and strategic leadership. With a solid educational foundation and entrepreneurial skills, she has successfully navigated complex healthcare landscapes. Michelle's career trajectory exemplifies her commitment to driving organizational growth, optimizing healthcare operations, and leveraging innovative solutions to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Edward Cuellar, MBA

Eddie is CIO for Methodist Healthcare System (MHS) of San Antonio, which is a joint venture of Nashville, TN based HCA Healthcare (HCA) and San Antonio, TX based Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM). MHS is the largest and most advanced healthcare system in San Antonio. For over 20 years at MHS, Eddie has focused his energies on addressing the clinical and business challenges in a competitive marketplace, through the use of information technology.

 

Eddie currently serves as President of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) of San Antonio and has been a member of HIMSS and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) for many years. His primary focus in serving the HIMSS organization of San Antonio is to develop the next generation of Healthcare IT leaders that will advance healthcare in providing exceptional and cost-effective healthcare accessible to all.

 

Previously, Eddie was the Corporate VP of IS and CIO of Incarnate Word Health System and Santa Rosa Healthcare. Prior to working directly for health care systems, he was VP and part owner of James Barko & Associates, Inc. He joined the start-up consulting firm to manage and develop the healthcare consulting practice of the firm. This consulting work followed his successful staff work at Andersen Consulting and IBM.

 

Eddie graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York with a Master of Business Administration.

Alyssa Al-Haj, RN, MSN

Alyssa is a distinguished healthcare professional currently holding the position of Administrative Director of Clinical Informatics. With a strong educational background, she completed her nursing degree at UT Health San Antonio, providing her with a solid foundation in healthcare and patient care. Building on her clinical expertise, Alyssa obtained her MSN in nursing informatics from Western Governors University, showcasing her commitment to integrating advanced technology into healthcare practices.

 

Alyssa's career is distinguished by her dedication to specialized areas of nursing, particularly in pediatric care and chemotherapy. Holding certifications in both domains, she exemplifies a deep understanding of specialized patient populations and critical medical procedures. Additionally, she serves as the Secretary for the San Antonio HIMSS Chapter, demonstrating her active involvement in promoting healthcare information and technology advancements within the community.

Barbara is an accomplished professional currently serving as the Director of Application Services at HCA, a position where she showcases her extensive expertise in technology and management. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Texas at El Paso, Barbara has laid a solid educational foundation for her career. Additionally, she has pursued a Masters of Technology Management from the University of Phoenix, further enhancing her knowledge and skills in the technology domain.

 

Throughout her career, Barbara has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in managing application services, displaying a keen understanding of the complexities and demands of the field. Her ability to strategically oversee and optimize application functions aligns with organizational goals and contributes to enhanced operational efficiency. Joe is an Experienced healthcare IT sales leader and is renowned for his pivotal role in introducing cutting-edge technologies to the healthcare industry, often a decade ahead of mainstream adoption. With a dedicated focus on Clinical Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence, and Health Information Exchange (CL/AI/HIE), Joe has been a driving force behind the advancement of healthcare systems, working towards the betterment of global population health.

Recognized as a leader in healthcare IT and honored as one of the "Rising Stars in Healthcare IT" by Health Data Management. Ronke Komalfe DBH, MBA 

Dr. Ronke Komolafe is an executive leader with over 15 years of healthcare experience creating business value through systemic programs, evaluation, strategic planning, market expansion, product development, and revenue generation. Dr. Ronke is the Board Chair and CEO of Integrated Physical & Behavioral Health Alliance, a business and market expansion Company that provides leadership and go-to-market strategies to healthcare and health IT Companies. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Integrated Health Magazine, a thought leadership magazine that focuses on integrated health approaches to care delivery and digital health.

 


Dr. Komolafe has extensive experience in health IT, Medicare/Medicaid, leadership, market strategy, business development, integrated care, and healthcare compliance. Dr. Komolafe is known for her multi-dimensional perspective on integrated health and passion for health IT, process improvement, and business growth.

In her role as the Regional Vice President of Sales for Cordea Consulting, Diane specializes in leadership, team productivity, C-level relationships, strategic planning, large account management, new business development, and successful new product launches. With a track record of excellence, Diane brings a strategic approach and a commitment to excellence that consistently elevates performance and achieves remarkable results for her organization and clients.

Chris Sloan FACHE, CPPS, LSSBB, MBA, MHA

Chris Sloan is the Chief Operating Officer for Texas Vista Medical Center, a 327-bed Acute Care, Academic Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.  Previously, he was COO of Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Washington.  Chris retired from the Army after 23 years of service.  He served in a number of leadership roles including Medical Logistics Support Director for Iraq Operations (OIF-1), and Chief Operating Officer of a Level 2 Trauma Center in Tacoma, Washington. 

 

A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Sloan earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1997 from the University of Tulsa, and an MBA and MHA from Baylor University in 2011. His Army awards include the Army Soldiers Medal (for heroism), 2 Bronze Stars, ACHE’s 2019 Excellence in Healthcare Management Award, and the Army Baylor - Boone Powell Award (top resident).  

 

Chris Sloan is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Certified Professional in Healthcare Management and Information Systems (CPHIMS), a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (SPPC), a Lean Six Sigma Black belt, serves as a board member with the South Texas HIMSS Chapter, and has coached youth soccer for over 24 years. Sloan is married to Roshawna Sloan and has a son and two daughters.

Jorge ZamoraJorge

Jorge is a Quality Analyst on the Clinical Outcomes team for Methodist Healthcare San Antonio and is using his Informatics background to bring digital transformation to the frontlines. In his current role, he supports their 10 hospitals to provide quality and safe patient care while meeting our core measures. Some of his most recent projects include the development of reports/dashboards, electronic tools, process improvement, data literacy education, and implementation of policy and recall management programs.
